Every two years, a magnificent flower carpet covering an area of 77 by 24 metres is laid out on the Grote Markt in Brussels. Over one million flowers create a stunning display of colour, each edition designed around a specific theme. Begonias are traditionally used for their vibrant hues and exceptional durability. The spectacle is truly breathtaking and always worth a visit. In 2026, the event is scheduled to take place from August 13 to August 16.
Places are limited so it’s definitely worth being quick!
Upon arrival, check into the centrally located hotel. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a traditional Brussels restaurant and discover some of the city’s culinary classics – from mussels and fries to local specialties.
Explore Brussels in the morning on a guided city tour that shows off the most beautiful sides of the city – from the futuristic Atomium, to the political heart of Europe, and beautiful historic squares with impressive architecture and sweeping views. A real highlight awaits in the afternoon – the world-famous Flower Carpet on the Grote Markt. Enjoy this colourful work of art from the best perspective – either directly from the Town Hall balcony or from a neighbouring restaurant with a viewing balcony (depending on availability). Afterwards, there is time to explore Brussels at leisure.
Two very special highlights near the Grote Markt are planned for today – beer and chocolate. The Belgian Beer World – an interactive museum about the history of Belgian beers – is now housed in the magnificent Art Nouveau building of the former stock exchange. A highlight is the beer tasting on the building’s beautiful panoramic terrace. In addition to beer, Belgium is also known for its exquisite chocolates and unique chocolate truffles. In Choco Story, learn all about this special craft and, of course, get to taste some of these delicacies. An enjoyable day full of culture and taste!
After breakfast, bid farewell to Brussels. An additional option could be stop in the venerable university town of Leuven. We’d be delighted to help you plan this.
