Every two years, a magnificent flower carpet covering an area of 77 by 24 metres is laid out on the Grote Markt in Brussels. Over one million flowers create a stunning display of colour, each edition designed around a specific theme. Begonias are traditionally used for their vibrant hues and exceptional durability. The spectacle is truly breathtaking and always worth a visit. In 2026, the event is scheduled to take place from August 13 to August 16.

Explore the European capital on an informative guided city tour. Starting in the outskirts, pass by Laeken Castle and the Expo site featuring the iconic Atomium, where a photo stop is, of course, included. The tour continues into the city centre, where it first passes through the modern Louise district. Then admire the impressive Palace of Justice, and experience the charm of the Sablon and Marollen quarters, before reaching the majestic Royal Palace. A perfect introduction to the history, architecture and political heart of Europe.
Start the day with a relaxing stroll through the charming Leopold Park, located just behind the hotel and stretching towards the buildings of the European Union. A visit to the House of European History is highly recommended, and admission is free with prior registration. In the afternoon, head to the iconic Grote Markt, where the magnificent Flower Carpet is laid out in front of the majestic Brussels Town Hall. Enjoy the spectacular view from the Town Hall balcony or from a nearby restaurant with a viewing terrace (subject to availability). The rest of the day is spent at leisure.
Enjoy a final stroll through the charming city centre or explore one of the vibrant flea markets before beginning the journey home.
