Every year from the end of November to mid-January, the Amsterdam Light Festival offers a unique spectacle in the city’s alleyways and canals. The best light artists in the world make the lights dance on the water of the canals. In close cooperation with architects and the city of Amsterdam, they present spectacular sights and impressions to the public. You can enjoy this experience particularly intensely during a canal cruise from the water.
The Royal Christmas Fair takes place annually in December (4.–23.12.25 and probably on approximately the same dates in 2026) in the historic city center of The Hague and is considered the most beautiful Christmas market in the Netherlands. Combine a visit to this cozy Christmas market with a trip to the Amsterdam Light Festival!
On arrival, you will be greeted with Dutch tapas in the hotel bar. These are typical delicacies that are enjoyed in the Netherlands with an after-work beer. Each person is served a beer and a jenever. Welcome to Amsterdam and ›eet smakelijk‹.
In the morning, you should explore the UNESCO city of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, on your own. The countless canals and bridges as well as the architecturally fascinating cityscape have earned Amsterdam the nickname ›Venice of the North‹. Every year, the canals are beautifully illuminated for the Amsterdam Light Festival in the heart of the city, an open light festival. Enjoy the special flair during the famous Amsterdam Light Festival on a canal cruise.
The Hague is one of the most beautiful cities in the Netherlands. The city is the seat of the Dutch government and the International Court of Justice. Magnificent historic buildings, spacious squares, elegant stores and a very sophisticated cultural scene characterize the image of the city. You will see the city’s most important sights during a city tour. You will then have the opportunity to take a stroll along Scheveningen beach.
At the end of the trip, you will visit a typical cheese dairy and clog maker. You will then start your journey home.
