Utrecht is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, comparable in beauty to Amsterdam. Once you have climbed the 465 steps to the top of the Dom Tower, you will have a unique view over the city. The 'Oude Gracht' is one of the city's lifelines and its banks are lined with cozy cafés and restaurants. A boat trip on the canals can give you a particularly nice impression of the city's sights.
Utrecht is the fourth largest city in the Netherlands. It is located in the geographical heart of the country and awaits you with a medieval old town and of course the typical canals, a famous 14th century bell tower, the ›Domtoren‹, and the venerable university. After the city tour, you should definitely take the time to stroll along the Oudegracht, for example. Here you will find numerous nice cafés and pubs right by the water. You can get a wonderful view of the city by climbing the 465 steps up to the cathedral. In the late afternoon, continue to your overnight destination.
Today’s program includes a panoramic trip around the Markermeer. You will see the old towns, such as Hoorn and Enkhuizen, where you will also visit the Zuiderseemusem. The drive along the N307, which leads through the water from Enkhuizen to Lelystad, is particularly impressive.
What would a trip to the Netherlands be without a visit to Amsterdam? The vibrant cosmopolitan city inspires visitors from all over the world. On a canal cruise, you will get to know Amsterdam from the water. You will see the beautiful canals, numerous bridges, houseboats, guild houses and futuristic buildings. At the end of the day, you will visit one of the typical cheese and clog makers.
On the way home, make a stop in the romantic medieval town of Amserfoort. A real gem that is waiting to be discovered by you!
