Welcome to the capital of the Netherlands, also known as the city of picturesque canals. Amsterdam is a very rewarding destination all year round with a wide range of cultural activities, unique museums and an international flair that makes the city always lively, but also always cozy. For example, enjoy a visit to the Rijksmuseum first and then enjoy the view over Amsterdam and its surroundings. The ›Amsterdam Lookout‹ viewing platform is the perfect place to do this over a cup of coffee.
At a cheese farm near Amsterdam, you can watch a clog maker at work and learn about the production of different types of cheese. A tasting is of course also included. You will then drive to your booked hotel in Amsterdam.
Today is all about Amsterdam. First, a tour guide will welcome you for a city tour. You will see the Central Station (Ijmeer side), Java Island, the Muiderpoort city gate, the Waterlooplein flea market, Stopera (music theater and city hall), the Amstel river, the Heineken brewery, the museum district and the beautiful south of Amsterdam. You will be particularly impressed by the following canal cruise. On this tour you will see the busy shipping traffic on Het Ij, the magnificent old sailing ships at the Maritime Museum and the quaint houseboats on the canals in the city center. Afterwards, you will have time for a leisurely stroll along the canals in the old town.
On the way home, you should visit Muiderslot Castle on the Ijsselmeer. The best-preserved medieval castle complex in the Netherlands is part of the Amsterdam fortress belt.
