On the day of arrival, you will visit the picturesque Hanseatic town of Kampen in the IJssel Delta. The panorama of the town with its magnificent sailing ships will inspire you. We recommend arriving via the N760 from the north, as this will give you the best panorama at the Stadsbrug.
Today you will first visit the Keukenhof, one of the most important and best-known sights in the Netherlands. It is located in a 32-hectare park and is the largest flower garden in the world, with 7 million freshly planted tulip bulbs every year. On the 15 km long walking trail through the park, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the magnificent sea of colorful flowers. In the afternoon, you can visit a cheese dairy and, of course, have a bite to eat.
After breakfast, you will set off on a day trip with a tour guide. First you will visit the former island of Schokland, which was connected to the mainland in 1932 by the diking of the IJsselmeer and the creation of polders. The polder landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On request, we can also organize a visit to the Schokland Museum (excl.). You will then continue to Giethoorn, which borders the Weerribben-Wieden National Park and is Europe’s largest contiguous area of fenland. The canal cruise through this beautiful town with its picturesque houses will delight you. Perhaps there will be enough time to pay a short visit to the Hanseatic city of Hasselt on the way back to the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, the return journey begins – we are also happy to help you organize your return day.
