Dresden, the jewel on the Elbe, offers a large number of top sights, e.g. Frauenkirche, Zwinger, Semper Opera House, Royal Palace with ›Green Vault‹ and Brühl Terraces. After the terrible destruction of World War II, Saxony’s Florence on the Elbe has regained its place as a cultural metropolis. Today, visitors can once again reminisce about the golden 18th century.
In the afternoon, a local tour guide will welcome you to a long city tour of Dresden. This leads from Postplatz via the Altmarkt to Pirnaischer Platz. The tour then takes you past the Great Garden along the River Elbe to the Blue Wonder, one of the city’s most famous bridges. After a detour through the new town, you will see the most famous sights of the old town such as the Frauenkirche, Zwinger, Stallhof, Fürstenzug, Residenzschloss and Semperoper during the final walk.
In Meissen, you will be taken on a guided tour of the porcelain manufactory. You will then walk through the historic old town to the castle hill and visit the cathedral and Albrechtsburg castle from the outside. After an individual lunch break at the market, you will continue to Moritzburg Castle. Here you will be welcomed on a guided tour of the baroque hunting lodge and park.
Perhaps you will take a short walk along the banks of the terrace in the morning before setting off on your journey home.
