Arrival in the Saxon state capital of Dresden. After checking into the centrally located hotel, take time to explore the nearby surroundings and become acquainted with the city.
In the afternoon, embark on an extensive city tour with a local guide. The route begins at Postplatz, continues through Altmarkt to Pirnaischer Platz, then passes the Großer Garten along the Elbe to the famous Blaues Wunder bridge. After a brief detour through the vibrant new town, explore Dresden’s iconic old town sights, including the Frauenkirche, Zwinger palace, Stallhof, Fürstenzug, Royal Palace and Semperoper opera house.
Today, explore Saxon Switzerland’s unique rock formations, including the famous Bastei rock formation, and visit Königstein Fortress, one of Europe’s largest mountain fortresses.
Enjoy a short morning walk along the terrace on the banks of the Elbe before the journey home begins.
