After your arrival, we recommend a short walk through the spa gardens of Bad Gögging or a visit to the hotel’s own thermal baths with a large wellness area. Dinner is served in the hotel, followed by a nightcap in the hotel bar.
On today’s day trip through the Altmühltal you will see Beilngries, Riedenburg and Kelheim. Your tour guide will take you to the Danube Gorge at Weltenburg Abbey. During a break here, you will have the opportunity to take in the magnificent natural scenery or to fortify yourself in the monastery tavern and sample a delicious monastery beer. You are expected back at The Monarch Hotel for dinner.
During today’s excursion, you will learn lots of interesting facts about the largest contiguous hop-growing region in the world. The Hallertau stretches between Bad Gögging, Siegenburg, Mainburg and Wolnzach. In Wolnzach, you are invited on a guided tour of the famous hop museum. Afterwards you will visit the famous wheat beer brewery Kuchlbauer in Abensberg, where excellent wheat beers have been brewed for 9 generations. Of course, you are also invited to sample a delicious wheat beer. After the excursion, you will return to the hotel for dinner.
On the return journey, we recommend a guided tour of Bamberg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
