Arrival in Groningen. Start your journey in the heart of the city, where history meets modern flair. From the majestic Martini Tower, Groningen’s landmark, you can enjoy a spectacular view over the rooftops. Stroll through the charming streets, discover the futuristic Groninger Museum with its avant-garde architecture or experience the vibrant life on the Grote Markt. A visit to the Groninger Forum, a meeting place – unique in its architecture and located in the heart of the city, is also a ›must‹. Inside the futuristic building you will find a variety of interesting facilities and attractions as well as cafés and bars. The roof terrace with panoramic views over the entire city is also worth a visit. In the evening, the diverse gastronomic scene beckons: try local specialties in one of the many trendy bars and restaurants.
You leave Groningen in the direction of the coast. In Lauwersoog you board the ferry to the small, romantic and car-free island of Schiermonnikoog. You cycle to the hotel in proper style. Enjoy a wonderfully relaxing day by the sea.
In the course of the morning, you will take the ferry back to Lauwersoog and travel by bus to the harbor in Holwerd. From here you will cross over to Ameland, where you will spend the next two nights.
Enjoy a wonderfully relaxing vacation day on Ameland. Explore the mudflats or visit the nature center. A short bike ride to the Bornif lighthouse or through the dune area is also a wonderful experience. Round off the evening with an atmospheric view of the North Sea.
