Münster and Osnabrück – experience history, discover pleasure. Münster and Osnabrück are two of the historical highlights of Germany. The Peace of Westphalia was signed here – a milestone in European history. Both cities boast charming old towns, diverse gastronomy and attractive shopping opportunities. The Münster region attracts visitors with its moated castles, quaint half-timbered towns and lively open-air theatres. The Osnabrück region is equally appealing, with its parklands and the famous site of the Varus Disaster. Ideal for coach tour groups, offering themed tours on the Peace of Westphalia, garden and cultural tours or culinary discovery tours. A region full of history, enjoyment and scenic beauty.

In the afternoon, a local tour guide leads you on an exciting city tour of Münster. The lively university and episcopal city has an eventful history – famous as one of the places where the Peace of Westphalia was negotiated, which ended the Thirty Years’ War in 1648. Historic buildings, lively squares and charming alleyways characterise the cityscape. You may even recognise one or two filming locations from the popular German television series, ›Tatort‹. Be inspired by Münster’s unique flair.

Explore three jewels of Westphalian architecture! A tour guide takes you on a full-day excursion to the most beautiful castles in the Münster region. The tour begins with the imposing moated castle of Vischering, a medieval defensive structure from the 13th century. It then continues to the beautiful Nordkirchen Castle, also known as the ›Westphalian Versailles‹ – a baroque castle complex with impressive gardens. Finally, visit the idyllically situated Hülshoff Castle, once home to the poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff. A day filled with history, architecture and atmosphere!

After breakfast, transfer from Münster to Tecklenburg, Germany’s northernmost mountain town. On a guided tour, discover the charming half-timbered town centre, the historic castle ruins and the largest open-air stage in Germany (closed during rehearsals). Then its time to start on the journey homeward.
