The Romantic Road: a fairytale route through Dinkelsbühl and Rothenburg ob der Tauber
The Romantic Road is one of the most famous vacation routes in Germany – a picturesque path that stretches over 400 kilometers from Würzburg to Füssen through charming towns, medieval villages and dreamlike landscapes. The stops at Dinkelsbühl and Rothenburg ob der Tauber are particularly enchanting and seem to have come straight out of a picture book.
Dinkelsbühl impresses with an almost completely preserved town wall, colorful half-timbered houses and a historic town center that has retained its medieval charm. The old town looks like a living backdrop from centuries past – especially during the Kinderzeche, a traditional festival in July when the town's history comes to life.
Rothenburg ob der Tauber, probably the most famous highlight of the Romantic Road, is only around 50 kilometers away. With its cobbled streets, half-timbered buildings and famous town wall, Rothenburg is a symbol of the romantic Middle Ages in Germany. Sights such as the Plönlein, the Crime Museum and the Christmas market attract visitors from all over the world.
