The Weser Uplands, an idyllic region between Porta Westfalica in the north and Hannoversch Münden in the south. A gentle low mountain range landscape with deep forests, bizarre rock formations, fairytale castles and fortresses and the idyllic course of the River Weser, which also gives its name to this magnificent stretch of countryside.

The Lüneburg Heath stands for mystical moors, dark forests and extensive heathland as well as beautiful half-timbered towns such as Celle and Lüneburg.

The Guelph city of Hanover serves as the location, which also has a lot more to offer visitors than might be expected at first glance! An unbeatable trio for a varied travel combination.

You will reach Hanover on the route of your choice. The capital of Lower Saxony will inspire you. The city is surprisingly green – many parks and gardens invite you to relax. In the old town you will find idyllic alleyways with cozy cafés and stores, framed by numerous historic half-timbered buildings. The interesting Old Town district is located around the Old Town Hall and the Old Market Church, which you can explore on a guided tour. So that the whole thing doesn’t become too ›dry‹, you stop off at a typical Hanoverian brewery for a ›Lüttje Lage‹, the city’s cult drink. After checking into your hotel room, the rest of the day is at leisure.

After breakfast, we head to the Herrenhausen Gardens. The imposing complex not far from the city center consists of four gardens: the ›Großer Garten‹, the ›Berggarten‹, the ›Georgengarten‹ and the ›Welfengarten‹. The centerpiece of the ensemble is the ›Großer Garten‹, which is one of the most beautiful baroque gardens in Europe. You will spend the afternoon at Steinhuder Meer – the largest lake in the north-west of Germany and a wonderful local recreation area. You can take a leisurely stroll along the lakeside promenade and simply relax or stop off at a beach bar. Individual end to the day in Hanover.

Discover the idyllic Weserbergland on this guided tour. The varied landscape with rolling hills, river valleys and historic towns offers charming views and exciting stories. A special item on the program is the guided tour of Porta Westfalica, known for the imposing Kaiser Wilhelm monument and the ›Gateway to Westphalia‹. Learn more about the history of the region and enjoy the impressive view of the Weser Valley.

Experience the charming landscape of the Lüneburg Heath on a varied round trip. Wide expanses of heathland, idyllic villages and tranquil forests characterize this unique cultural landscape. A highlight of the tour is a visit to the Hermann Löns Memorial, which commemorates the famous ›Heath Poet‹. Enjoy informative insights into the region along the way and plenty of time for short walks or photo stops.
